2012 NEWS FOR DAWN AND LINSNER FANS.

Hello Dawnfans ~~

Dawn has been away from the public eye for far too long. That is about to change.

2012 will see a number of new Dawn projects. First up this summer is a 48 page special “DAWN: The White Phoenix & Other Stories” written, drawn, and colored by me, JML. This book will feature a number of shorter Dawn pieces which I have been wanting to do for years. I’ve been working on it for the past few months, and I am very proud of the work I have on paper so far.

That will be followed by the fourth Dawn mini series (still untitled). I have been writing it since 2006 whenever the inspiration hits me. As most of you know, I cannot force Dawn out onto the page. It comes when it comes. And over the past few months the desire to revisit Dawn’s world has hit me like a tidal wave. I cannot wait to get back in there -- to get lost there. Series four picks up with Darrian Ashoka’s return to New York. Ahura Mazda and Lucifer are now a team and they have taken over New York. Darrian has to confront them, liberate the city and free Dawn, who they have captured.

Jaynis Goldbaum returns, the Old Sailor comes back, even the guy Darrian traded his sword to comes back. The city has changed and I can’t wait to share with the world what I have in my notebooks and sketchbooks.

I am just itching to get to it – there are so many scenes that I am DYING to draw. But I have to wrap up “Dawn:The White Phoenix” first. This next series is looking to be another 6 issue affair. That is a mountain of work, and I have to get myself in shape for it. The last 6 issue Dawn series (Three Tiers) took me 3 years of work and really kicked my ass. I hope this one goes faster, but I love Dawn, so she deserves my best effort. I can’t hack out Dawn comics.

I will post sneak peeks at the work progresses.

Thanks for the interest and the support. I’d be lost without you guys.

Oh yeah, Diamond Select is planning a Dawn Retro Mego/Emce toys 8 inch figure, the type with the cloth outfit. I am SO THRILLED about this!!! She will be out later this year as well.

Stay tuned ~~~ The best is yet to come.

Merry Krampus Group Art show tonight.

Opening reception of the Merry Krampus show in Anaheim at the Promenade Gallery. Kristina Deak and I will have work in this show along with Tom Laura of Big Toe Art and many others.

I am very thrilled to be participating in this group exhibit. Krampus is figure from my Germanic roots and I have gotten a kick out of seeing what other Artists have done with the conceptual theme. Here is an excerpt of mine, which will be on display for the duration of the exhibition:

First opening reception is tonight, more information is below:

Look out Batgirl....it's VAMPIRELLA!

This is the first of six covers I just singed on to do for Dynamite Entertainment. It's nice to dance once again with the world's sexiest vampire...VAMPIRELLA! I'm currently hard at work on another cover this very evening.
